Ellen Guthrie is a writer living in Santa Cruz, CA, with her husband and two rescued senior Chihuahuas, Zeb & Mona. She has written for the Austin American Statesman and Austin Fit Magazine, and she is the creator of the “That Big Kid Ellen” blog. She spent thousands of dollars on life coaches and woo-woo remedies before she realized that the secret to happiness is simply learning to turn down the volume on the inner critic that lives inside her head and act like a kid again.

Ellen is working on multiple fiction projects. Her writing is full of sharp banter, frustratingly relatable characters, and shocking plot twists. She has an uncanny ability to illustrate the messy layering that defines real-world relationships that ensures readers will see themselves in every page. Readers love rooting for her protagonists, but eventually learn that they are truly rooting for themselves.
